Job description
The Project Coordinator I (PC1) supports the full lifecycle of telecom construction projects by securing critical field data, validating records, preparing documentation, and coordinating project tasks.
PC1's ensure effective communication with internal teams, vendors, and customers to move projects from survey to closeout while developing their technical and organizational capabilities., * Conduct field surveys using GIS collection tools and prepare job scope outlines
- Generate preliminary estimates to support customer budgeting
- Review and validate job site documentation
- Provide daily project reporting, including WIP tracking and quality control
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate and complete documentation
- Collect and update as-built documentation upon project completion
- Review subcontractor as-builts and verify invoicing accuracy
- Assist and collaborate with cross-functional departments as needed
- Communicate with customers regarding job status and resolve concerns, * Industry vocabulary and telecom terminology
- Basic understanding of underground and aerial construction
- Reading construction design and city plat maps
- Introduction to GIS collection practices
- Using Smartsheet for progress tracking and form uploads
- Subcontractor communication basics
- Introduction to bid packages and customer expectations
- Locate training (In-house and 811 system overview)
- Damage reporting and utility strike procedures (GAS & Electric)
Ongoing Refreshers
- Jobsite safety protocols and field hazard awareness
- Basic traffic control and flagging standards
- As-built documentation collection and verification
- Quality control process and daily WIP reporting
- Use of Collector software for surveys and updates
- Smartsheet updates and documentation uploads
- Subcontractor invoice review support
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in telecommunications or related field
- Proficient in basic field survey techniques and GIS practices
- Able to interpret construction and city plat maps
- Competent with relevant computer applications (e.g., GIS, Smartsheet)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Demands & Competencies
- Hybrid indoor/outdoor role requiring driving, walking, light lifting, and ladder climbing
- Must be able to work year-round in various weather conditions
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Overnight travel may occasionally be required
