Job description
- Engage independently with business partners to elicit and decompose requirements into actionable functional designs.
- Collaborate with technical team members to translate business needs into sound technical designs across ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and analytics.
- Create clear test acceptance criteria and execute unit and UAT testing to validate outputs.
- Develop and run SQL scripts for ETL and data validation.
- Research emerging trends in banking, data engineering, architecture, and data security to inform solution design.
- Build CI/CD pipelines, self-service build tools, and automated deployment processes.
- Evaluate software products and provide documented recommendations.
- Support and troubleshoot data platforms, including participation in escalated on-call rotations for critical incidents.
- Plan and execute internal projects such as legacy replacement, monitoring and analytics improvements, tool development, and documentation.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to team members while managing and prioritizing multiple assignments.
Requirements
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data engineering, analytics, and cloud data platforms and a proven ability to design, build, and scale secure, reliable data solutions that deliver measurable business value., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to business and technical audiences.
- Proficiency in SQL with 3-5 years of hands-on experience.
- Experience with ETL/ELT, DBT, and Python for data engineering tasks.
- Cloud data experience, preferably Snowflake and Azure.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for data quality, performance, and solution design.
- Knowledge of SDLC, project coordination, and release management protocols.
Preferred Skills:
- Conceptual understanding of big data technologies and distributions, metadata management, commercial ETL tools, and REST API design.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools, data warehousing patterns, and data testing practices.
- Background in search, messaging, stream processing, or machine learning.
