Job description

We are looking to hire a Desktop Support Engineer to provide fast and effective support for computer hardware and software issues. You will be required to work on-site or via remote connection and assist with hardware installations, software upgrades, systems integrations, and troubleshoot basic IT-related issues. To ensure success, you should have extensive knowledge of current operating systems and applications, good problem-solving skills, and high-level interpersonal skills., * Provide remote and on-site support for one or more locations as needed

  • Responding to end user support requests and escalations from the Helpdesk via tickets
  • Hardware installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Installing Windows software, patches, updates, and 3rd party applications
  • Knowledge of desktop encryption
  • Workstation deployments
  • Workstation image creation and management
  • Providing basic guidance in computer operation and management
  • Special projects as required.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of IT experience, * Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology preferred.

Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate preferred
  • A+ Certification preferred

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules, and peripherals
  • Knowledge of SCCM and other popular organizations endpoint support systems (such as Automox, Ivanti, Manage Engine) -- used for imaging, software updates, reporting, remediation, software applications, and remote connection systems
  • Knowledge of PowerShell, scripting, Grouo Policy and Active Directory
  • Experience with Dell and HP computer hardware
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 operating systems and domain environments
  • Experience with mobile devices (IOS, Android, Windows)
  • Ability to independentily research, troubleshoot and solve complex hardware and software issues
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to travel and work after hours support/On-Call when necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills required to communicate action items taken to resolve IT-related issues to end-users in terms easily understood
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • HDL is required
