Job description
We are looking for an experienced Computer Technician with initiative and a passion for computer repair and networking to join our team. You will serve as the face of the company, working in-house on client computers as well as travelling to client locations for installations, maintenance, and repairs of hardware, servers, and networks. This will include working with email, office equipment, personal and business computers, internet and networking configurations, and more. We also offer remote support to clients when appropriate, with the goal of delivering solutions that provide clear value and justify the time invested., Travel to and from client locations on a daily basis with provided company vehicles
- Troubleshoot and communicate hardware or software issues to clients in business settings
- Determine the best solutions for the client based on efficiency, time, and cost
- Install software and equipment based on company policies
- Maintain systems, servers, and other equipment to ensure they continue to run properly without interruptions or issues
- Perform basic PC maintenance techniques such as virus & malware removal, check for disk errors, repair system registry errors, installing operating system updates, updating drivers & BIOS, optimizing startup programs & other system settings, and physical cleaning of devices
- Perform hard drive replacements, clones, and upgrades
- Build basic server and RAID configurations
- Various other network-related tasks, including implementing WiFi solutions, wire runs and cable terminations
- Printer repair and maintenance
- Email troubleshooting and migrations
Requirements
2+ years of employment in the IT support industry
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications
- Familiarity with configuring routers and WiFi
- Able to terminate cables and install keystones
- Understanding of computer networking principles and protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Must be fluent in the following terms: DHCP, DNS, SATA, HDD, SSD, BIOS, VPN, SSL, IMAP, POP3, SMTP, * Associate (Preferred)
Experience:
- Computer hardware: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- drivers license (Required)
