Job description
Under the general supervision of the Technology Supervisor, the employee in this position will perform installation, maintenance, and repair of microcomputers and related technology. The employee will do installation, alteration, and field maintenance on microcomputers, networks and related tasks. Maintain accurate work and inventory records and provide assistance to District staff in the utilization of technology., * Configure and install microcomputer hardware, software and peripherals at various sites throughout the District.
- Provide routine preventative maintenance for microcomputer systems.
- Troubleshoot microcomputer problems; repair or refer to outside facility.
- Install operating systems and application software on new and existing computer systems in both stand-alone and networked environments.
- Provide maintenance and technical support for Local Area Network, including hardware and software.
- Ensure compatibility between software and hardware systems.
- Maintain a work-order system and audit trail for maintenance work.
- Maintain a Districtwide inventory of computer equipment and peripherals.
- Assist other District technical staff members in related support tasks as needed.
- Provide field-service experience on a periodic basis.
- Provide assistance to teachers and students where appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Software installation?, * High school graduation or equivalent and two years of computer support service experience.
- Experience should include installing operating systems and applications software, performing
- diagnostic and trouble-shooting duties with both hardware and software required.
- Possess in-depth working knowledge of software and hardware system configurations.
- Possess ability to troubleshoot computer problems and accurately determine solutions.
- Possess familiarity with a variety of utility software applications and the concepts of their functioning.
- One year Local Area Network experience with Windows systems preferred.
- Have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people.
- Have the ability to establish and maintain a strong customer service philosophy.
- Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relations required.
- Demonstrated skills in written and oral communications.
- Demonstrated experience with PC and Apple platforms.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License required.
