The EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Manager is responsible for the strategy, implementation, operation, and support of the organization's EDI and B2B integration platforms. This role ensures reliable, secure, and compliant electronic data exchanges with customers, suppliers, logistics partners, third-party providers, and internal applications. The EDI Manager leads EDI operations, manages vendor relationships, and partners closely with business and IT teams to support supply chain, finance, and customer-facing processes., EDI Strategy & Operations
- Own and manage the enterprise EDI platform (IBM Sterling B2B Integrator), ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Define and execute the EDI roadmap aligned with business and IT strategic goals.
- Oversee daily EDI operations, monitoring transaction flow, error resolution, and SLA performance.
- Ensure secure and compliant data exchange using industry standards and protocols.
Integration & Technical Leadership
- Manage EDI maps, trading partner setups, and document standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, JSON).
- Support integrations between EDI systems and core business applications (ERP, WMS, TMS, CRM).
- Review EDI onboarding projects for new customers and trading partners and receive any necessary approvals.
- Drive process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Team & Vendor Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop EDI analysts and integration specialists.
- Manage third-party EDI vendors and service providers, including contract oversight and performance management.
- Coordinate with internal IT teams (applications, infrastructure, security) on integrations and upgrades.
Business Collaboration
- Act as the primary EDI liaison for business stakeholders across Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service.
- Translate business requirements into scalable EDI and integration solutions.
- Provide production support, root-cause analysis, and proactive issue prevention.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Participate in change management meetings and ensure team is in compliance.
- Ensure compliance with data security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain EDI documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and system testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
(or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on EDI experience, including management or lead responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and B2B integration concepts.
- Experience integrating EDI with ERP systems.
- Proven experience managing vendors, projects, and cross-functional stakeholders.
