Job description
- The Broadband Network Technician I is responsible for detecting, troubleshooting and resolving system outages for data, video, and telephone.
- This role will be responsible for emergency restoration of coax, underground cable, maintenance of power supply, leakage and splicing.
- The BNT I is required to maintain documentation as needed.
- This role participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages in aerial and/or underground capacities related to transmission levels, signal losses and off-air interference.
- Prepare and perform emergency aerial and/or underground coaxial cable restoration due to variables such as cable breaks and/or damage
- Perform preventative maintenance (power supply, actives) in the form of testing, balancing, alignment and adjustments of components or equipment
- Monitor, record and repair cable leakage, complying with applicable regulations
- Observe and assist co-workers with fiber splicing activities
- Complete and distribute required documentation, such as work orders and daily logs
- Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 2+ years (telecom technician)
- Maintain satisfactory driving record and have a valid driver's license

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Working outside in various weather conditions
- Ability to safely climb and work from ladders (or bucket truck buckets) for extended periods of time

The base salary range in Washington for this position is $23.15- $35.74 per hour, plus opportunities for bonus and benefits, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.
