Job description
Rutgers University - Camden seeks an application developer. Reporting to the Assistant Director of IT/Application Development, the Application Developer provides n-tier application development and maintenance support to Rutgers University Camden Information Technology (RUCIT). The position is primarily focused on: developing, correcting, enhancing and deploying systems designed to automate business processes using programming languages and platforms supported by RUCIT. The Application Developer analyzes business challenges, makes technical suggestions and designs complex systems under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Assistant Director of IT. The Application Developer identifies efficiencies in program function used across systems and data sharing across units when appropriate. Applications developed include: automated processes, business-workflow specific solutions, student information, appointment maintenance and e-commerce applications, reports for all administrative and academic units of the Camden campus.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience with 2 or more years of programming experience with solid knowledge of current programming languages and methodologies and source control. In addition to technical skill, the developer must be able to follow and enhance existing team processes, communicate effectively, provide regular status updates, collaborate with the team and all levels of university faculty, staff and administration.

Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets.
