Job description
We are looking for experienced, detail-oriented Field Installation Technicians to assist with onsite network equipment deployments. This is a hands-on, physical installation role working under the direction of a Traversa Project Manager or Lead Technician. You will be responsible for the physical setup of network hardware and the quality of rack builds - no configuration or technical troubleshooting is required., * Rack and stack network hardware - mount switches, patch panels, APs, and related equipment per project documentation
- Dress and route Cat5e/Cat6 cabling in high-density racks - neat bundling, consistent bend radius, proper strain relief, and clean cable runs consistent with client presentation standards
- Mount and physically cable wireless access points (APs) per site survey and placement documentation
- Secure and label pre-run cabling within racks and enclosures - no termination required
- Follow written and verbal installation instructions from the Traversa PM or lead technician on-site
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment throughout the project
- Represent Traversa professionally in front of client staff and stakeholders at all times
- Communicate proactively with the project lead regarding progress, material needs, or site issues
Requirements
- 2-4+ years of hands-on experience with rack and stack installations in commercial or enterprise environments
- Demonstrated skill in high-density rack cable dressing - you know what a clean rack looks like and how to build one
- Experience handling Cat5e/Cat6 cabling in structured environments - routing, bundling, and securing, not terminating
- Comfort working on active commercial job sites with client staff present
- Ability to follow detailed installation documentation and take direction without improvising
- Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills - you represent Traversa on client sites
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable to project schedules
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
- Ability to pass a background check
- Willingness to travel for project assignments - primarily DFW/regional with occasional national travel; hotel and expenses covered
Benefits & conditions
- Trav Hourly rate: $25-$35/hr depending on experience and demonstrated skill
- Travel: primarily local DFW and regional; occasional national project travel during peak cycles
- All overnight travel expenses covered - hotel, per diem (meals), and airfare or mileage per Traversa policy
- Project-based schedule - assignments vary in length; consistent availability of 2-5 days/week preferred
- This is a 1099 independent contractor position - no benefits are included
