Job description
Arcadis is seeking a skilled MES Syncade Automation Engineer to support the design, configuration, deployment, and optimization of the Emerson Syncade Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at a pharmaceutical client in Worcester, MA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MES solutions in GMP-regulated environments, focusing on process automation, integration with shop floor systems, and continuous improvement., * Develop, configure, and deploy new Syncade MES recipes, workflows, and electronic batch records (eBR).
- Customize Syncade modules to align with manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.
Integration & Automation:
- Integrate Syncade with automation systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA), ERP, and LIMS.
- Develop and maintain interfaces using OPC, web services, or other relevant protocols.
Project Execution:
- Collaborate with IT, QA, validation, and process engineering teams to deliver MES projects.
- Author and execute validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for MES changes and new deployments.
Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support for Syncade MES to resolve operational issues.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all solutions comply with 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5, and other regulatory standards.
- Maintain system documentation, change control records, and user training materials.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience with MES (preferably Emerson Syncade) in a regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and validation practices.
- Experience integrating MES with automation and enterprise systems.
- Proficiency with SQL, scripting, and troubleshooting interfaces.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
