Job description

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to take day-to-day operational ownership of our network and the managed network services we provide to customers. This is a role for someone who can operate confidently across both execution and forward looking network scalability. You will be responsible for keeping the network stable, driving technical standards, and supporting escalations., Assume day-to-day operational responsibility for Atlas's production network and customer managed network services

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex network incidents, outages, and technical issues

  • Lead advanced troubleshooting across routing, switching, wireless, and multi-vendor environments

  • Provision, configure, and maintain network infrastructure across Mikrotik, TP-Link Omada, Ubiquiti UniFi, and related platforms

  • Plan, review, and implement network changes with strong attention to stability, risk, and rollback readiness

  • Help define, improve, and enforce technical standards, provisioning practices, documentation expectations, and escalation workflows

  • Partner with Helpdesk, Field Operations, and leadership to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and to a high standard

  • Contribute to network design, capacity planning, lifecycle planning, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation for deployments, changes, standards, and operational procedures

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to other team members as needed

Requirements

You are an experienced network engineer who combines strong technical depth with sound judgment, ownership, and follow-through. You have operated in real-world production environments where uptime, quality, and consistency matter. You think beyond the immediate issue, document thoroughly, and build solutions that scale. You are calm under pressure, effective during outages, and capable of leading technical response when needed.

You bring deep senior-level networking expertise, strong service provider instincts, and the ability to learn quickly. If you already have strong Mikrotik experience, that is a major plus as our network is primarily Mikrotik. If not, you should still be comfortable stepping into a multi-vendor environment and learning our standards fast. Our Chief Engineer will provide cross-training.

You must:

  • Be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time

  • Be willing to demonstrate your technical skills in a live lab or technical review as part of the hiring process, Significant hands-on experience in a senior network engineering role

  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalling, and network troubleshooting across Layer 2 and Layer 3

  • Strong practical experience with dynamic routing, including OSPF and BGP, in production environments

  • Strong troubleshooting ability across multi-vendor network environments

  • Proven ability to lead technical response during outages and high-impact incidents

  • Strong documentation habits and disciplined change management practices

  • Proven ability to prioritize, execute, and maintain high standards in a fast-moving operational environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep hands-on experience with Mikrotik RouterOS in production environments

  • Experience with ISP or service provider networks

  • Experience supporting managed network services for business customers or multi-site environments

  • Experience with microwave radio systems such as Aviat or similar platforms

  • Experience with Ubiquiti wireless systems and TP-Link Omada environments

  • Familiarity with VoIP fundamentals and supporting voice network environments

  • Mikrotik certifications such as MTCNA, MTCRE, or higher

  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking credentials, Your experience supporting ISP, managed network, or service provider environments

  • Your experience across vendors and platforms

  • Any certifications or advanced technical specialties you bring

  • Over time, you become a trusted technical leader who improves network reliability, supports growth, raises standards, and reduces operational friction across the business.
