Job description
Plan and execute installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components Install, operate, and maintain telecommunications circuits and equipment Install fiber optic and copper cabling, communication racks, patch panels, and telecom wiring Test voice and data circuits using advanced diagnostic tools Troubleshoot telecommunications systems and coordinate with vendors for support and repairs Support the operation and maintenance of voice, data, and video communication systems Assist in network analysis, design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance Perform performance testing, system modifications, and repairs for wireless and telecom systems Integrate multiple technical disciplines into cohesive telecommunications solutions Research and recommend new technologies to improve system performance and reliability
Requirements
Associate degree in a related field OR 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree Certifications:
CompTIA Security+ (required) Experience:
3+ years of experience in network performance analysis 3+ years of telecommunications maintenance experience Experience maintaining vendor relationships and recommending system improvements Technical Skills Experience with Cisco networking equipment, including 6500 series Layer 3 switches Strong knowledge of voice, data, and video telecommunications systems Hands-on experience with fiber optic and copper cabling installations Ability to test and troubleshoot circuits using diagnostic equipment Skilled in identifying faults and performing minor equipment repairs Core Competencies Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise telecommunications systems Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills Ability to ensure reliability and performance of telecom infrastructure Effective communication and coordination with vendors and internal teams
