Job description

  • Provides systems administration technical expertise in support of core business functions.
  • Evaluates end user needs, goals, in conjunction with application parameters to define overall system requirements and technical design.
  • Relies on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals.
  • Evaluates existing systems and designs/flowcharts proposed systems.
  • Installs, monitors, and manages servers and customer endpoints, resolves issues as neededInstalls system and application patches and performs system backups and recovery.
  • Monitors system configuration and manages log files.
  • Develops user guides, technical procedures, and technical architecture documentation.
  • Ensures system security through proactive security patch management.
  • Monitors existing infrastructure and usage, optimizes system to ensure quality user experience.
  • Documents internal policies
  • Makes recommendation on potential solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data backup, and recovery specifications.
  • Generates usage reports for submission to leadership.
  • Manages upgrades and continually monitors all production servers for performance, business continuity, disaster discovery and security.
  • Builds and deploys server and multi-client images support, including wireless, in conjunction with software and hardware product development.
  • Maintain Windows Server 2012 - 2022 and related services E.g. File/Print/DHCP server
  • Maintain VMware vSphere platform and related services
  • Manage work queues for Windows and VMware incidents, problems, changes, tasks and requests and ensure workload is effectively managed; prioritize and respond to help desk tickets as appropriate.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Windows & VMware Administrator
  • Good knowledge managing virtualized (VMware) operating systems.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining Cloud & on-premises platforms.
  • Experience with managing proactive monitoring and alerting to assure system uptime.
  • Understanding of Major cloud platforms E.g. AWS/Azure/GCP
  • High level troubleshooting skills at the OS, virtualization, and hardware layer
  • Good understanding of PowerShell Scripting.
  • Understanding of networking topology and protocols
  • Clear and concise communications both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of SLA terms
  • Proven track record working in a global and multicultural environment
