Job description
As a Electrical Engineer specializing in hardware design, you will play an integral role in the design and development of custom electronics, bringing advanced metal 3D printing factory systems to life. You will address challenging problems in high-performance computing, high-speed communications, embedded hardware, motion control, and autonomous robotics. Embracing a first principles approach, you will tackle new areas within electrical engineering, collaborating effectively across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for metal printing.
- Drive electrical architecture, product requirements, and component selection.
- Conduct analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, documentation, product management, productization, manufacturing, and testing.
- Challenge assumptions and learn new design approaches.
- Hands-on debugging using laboratory test equipment, custom instrumentation, and testing setups.
- Model and simulate circuit designs for analysis and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a similar discipline.
- 8+ years of professional experience designing and delivering complex electrical hardware.
- Broad experience in electrical engineering fundamentals with a first-principles problem-solving approach.
- Experience in designing, developing, and testing both analog and digital circuits.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in electrical engineering.
- 8+ years of electronic product experience from concept through production, emphasizing full life cycle development.
- Familiarity with industrial automation technologies and robotics.
- Working knowledge of data acquisition systems.
- Experience with sensors, embedded microcontroller design, firmware, and FPGA hardware and software development.
- Experience with high-speed data acquisition systems, high-accuracy motion systems, high-speed scanning systems, optomechanical assemblies, and complex electromechanical systems.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
