Job description
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to support the design, development, and sustainment of embedded electronic systems used in electro-mechanical products. This role will focus heavily on schematic and PCB design in Altium, component selection, and supporting both new product development and legacy hardware platforms. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware and mechanical engineering, to deliver reliable, field-proven solutions., * Design and develop electronic hardware from requirements through production, including schematic capture and PCB design using Altium.
- Perform component selection based on electrical, environmental, and lifecycle requirements.
- Support new product development as well as obsolescence and legacy product sustainment.
- Design and integrate analog sensor interfaces, power regulation, and digital logic circuits.
- Develop and maintain hardware for systems utilizing simple microcontrollers.
- Interface with motor control systems, collaborating with external firmware teams as needed.
- Support RF-based communication hardware used in product controllers.
- Participate in design reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
- Provide documentation to support manufacturing, testing, and long-term product support.
Requirements
- 5 years of hands-on hardware engineering experience.
- Strong experience with schematic and PCB design in Altium.
- Experience in circuit design and embedded hardware development.
- Experience working with microcontrollers and mixed-signal designs (although mostly analog).
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience writing code or scripts for hardware testing and validation.
- Exposure to or experience with motor control systems.
- RF communication experience (RF transceivers, wireless control).
- Familiarity with industrial or ruggedized electronic products.
Work Environment
The role requires local presence for onsite access and coordination with cross-functional teams. This is a Contract position based out of Lafayette, IN. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
