Job description

Director of ERP and Business Applications responsible for owning the strategy, delivery, and lifecycle management of the internal business applications portfolio, primarily Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and FO. The role ensures that applications are fit for purpose, secure, scalable, and continuously improving to enable operational excellence across the organization. It also oversees all divisional-managed cloud platforms and when needed, leads solution management or the IT PMO. Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end lifecycle of internal business applications, including implementation, stabilization, enhancement, and road-mapping.
  • Lead solution architecture and application management for ERP and business applications, ensuring security, supportability, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose solution designs and prioritized application backlogs.
  • Define integration patterns, data flows, and application interfaces aligned to ERP and enterprise architecture.
  • Govern configuration versus customization decisions to minimize long-term technical debt.
  • Oversee configuration, customization, and integration delivery across internal and vendor-led teams.
  • Maintain secure, well-documented, and maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Own application portfolio not managed by corporate, including SaaS platforms (eg, Fieldwire, Autodesk Construction Cloud) and specialized line-of-business systems.
  • Vendor selection, contract oversight, performance management, cost optimization, and licensing governance.
  • Align and support ERP for automation and AI enablement, ensuring data, integrations, and architecture support future AI capabilities.
  • Enable citizen-led automation using low-code tools, establish governance, guardrails, and standards for automation and AI usage.
  • Potentially lead or oversee the IT project management office, including program and initiative delivery, governance, risk, and change management.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures through application and ERP due diligence, integration strategy, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Build and lead a high-performing applications and solutions team, aligning stakeholders, communicating with executive leaders, and setting clear ownership.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in enterprise applications, ERP, or business systems with senior leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and/or FO (implementation, enhancement, or ownership).
  • Strong understanding of ERP lifecycle management.
  • Proven vendor and partner management experience.
  • Experience supporting a citizen development environment and governance.
  • Applied AI literacy, understanding of practical AI use cases, limitations, and risks.
  • Solid business acumen across finance, operations, and project delivery.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Practical understanding of cybersecurity principles in enterprise applications., * Experience leading or governing a PMO.
  • Background in multi-site or operationally complex organizations.
  • Experience with construction, engineering, or project-centric ERP models.
  • Familiarity with cloud-first, API-driven application architectures.

  • Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 (DOE)
