Solution Architect

Solution Architect 6 Month contract initially Based: Hybrid, up to 3 days p/w onsite in Manchester Rate - £450 - £550 p/d via Umbrella

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop end to end architecture covering applications, data, integration, security, and infrastructure.
• Create high-level and detailed solution designs, architecture diagrams, data flows, and interface specifications.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with enterprise standards.
• Evaluate technology options and recommend optimal architectural choices.
• Work closely with business leaders, product owners, delivery managers, and engineering teams to understand requirements.
• Present architecture proposals and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Perform architecture reviews, solution assurance, and risk assessments.
• Guide development teams on implementation best practices and architectural patterns

Key Skills & Experience:

• Deep understanding and expertise of Legacy technologies and/or platforms including mainframes
• 6+ years of relevant work experience in solution architecture, with deep understanding of cloud hosting concepts and implementations.
• Experience in converting Legacy applications to containerized microservice design applications.
• Deep understanding of domain driven design and data mesh principles
• Hands-on experience on design, build and deployment of applications based on .NET MVC, Java, Angular, React, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and event-based architecture.
• Conceptual clarity around Front End development
• Hands on experience in implementing API, Micro-services and application security
• Strong in architecture design patterns, experience with secure interoperability standards and methods, architecture tools and process.
• Hands-on experience setting up DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), automated testing & deployment pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills - has good skills in working with business stakeholders
• Knowledge in Pension/Annuity, preferably in UK Workplace pension.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Sound knowledge of agile principles, and practices
