Job description

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer serves as a technical lead for enterprise infrastructure design, implementation, and operations across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. This role ensures secure, scalable, and reliable systems that support mission-critical applications and organizational operations., Infrastructure Architecture & Design

  • Designs and implements enterprise infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, and virtualization
  • Architects hybrid connectivity between on-premises datacenters and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
  • Ensures infrastructure scalability and alignment with organizational goals
  • Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and identity services
  • Ensure availability and performance of Epic and third-party healthcare systems via secure, high-performance infrastructure

Systems Administration & Operations

  • Manages and troubleshoots Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Oversees virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) for high availability
  • Implements backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions
  • Administer and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS)
  • Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) with a focus on high availability and fault tolerance
  • Implement enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions (SolarWinds, Splunk, etc.)

Security & Compliance

  • Applies security best practices and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
  • Conducts vulnerability assessments and remediates risks
  • Maintains identity and access management controls
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and healthcare-grade security across all infrastructure

Automation & Optimization

  • Develops scripts and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
  • Monitors system performance and capacity planning
  • Optimizes infrastructure for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Proactively monitor, capacity plan, and optimize infrastructure for scalability and efficiency

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Leads infrastructure projects and technology deployments
  • Mentors junior engineers and provides technical guidance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or related role
  • Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments (on-premises and cloud such as Azure or AWS)
  • Strong experience with Windows and Linux server administration
  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise storage solutions
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA
  • Experience supporting enterprise or healthcare systems

  • Experience with automation and scripting tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (Azure, AWS)
