Job description
The Software Engineer will serve on an integrated product development team supporting a full-featured service hosted on large-scale compute clusters and AWS cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on developing, integrating, and sustaining advanced capabilities, including AI-driven systems. The engineer will contribute across the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, optimization, and operational support, while working within an agile environment., * Develop, test, and integrate software capabilities within a cloud-based environment
- Support deployment and sustainment of services on large-scale compute clusters and AWS infrastructure
- Design and optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability
- Implement and support AI/ML-driven capabilities, including LLM-based solutions
- Contribute to infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-aligned solutions

Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Substitution: Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience on similar projects may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- Fourteen (14) years of Software Engineering experience
- Alternative: Eighteen (18) years of experience without a degree
Required Technical Skills
- Experience with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic AI systems
- Experience with AWS cloud architecture and system design
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
- Strong Java development experience, particularly for distributed systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience optimizing performance for large-scale distributed systems
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies
- Experience supporting production cloud environments and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and system reliability engineering principles
