Job description
As the IT Business Relationship Manager supporting the NetSuite implementation, you will serve as the connective tissue between the Finance leadership team and the external professional services team executing the deployment. You will be equal parts strategic partner, governance enforcer, and implementation driver - ensuring that the system is built right, the controls are documented properly, and the business is protected every step of the way.
For the right candidate, this engagement has a multiyear roadmap. This is a long runway, not a short sprint.
What You'll Own
Implementation Partnership & Business Alignment
- Serve as the primary IT liaison between the Finance team and the professional services implementation partner deploying NetSuite
- Translate business requirements from Finance and Operations stakeholders into documented functional and technical specifications
- Facilitate working sessions, decision logs, and cross-functional alignment to keep the implementation on track and on scope
- Ensure the Finance team's voice is embedded in every phase of the deployment - from requirements through go-live
Governance, Compliance & Controls
- Own IT General Controls (ITGC) documentation, testing, and sign-off throughout the implementation lifecycle
- Ensure change control processes are established, enforced, and audit-ready from day one
- Support SOX 404(b) compliance requirements, including control design, walkthroughs, and evidence management
- Partner with Finance and Compliance stakeholders to ensure the NetSuite environment meets all regulatory and internal audit standards
Project Management & Execution
- Manage project timelines, milestone tracking, risk identification, and stakeholder communications
- Coordinate between internal teams and the external implementation partner to resolve blockers and dependencies
- Maintain a clear and current view of open items, decisions required, and upcoming deliverables
- Bring structure to a complex, multi-stakeholder environment without losing speed
Testing & Validation
- Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test script development, execution oversight, and defect tracking
- Ensure testing documentation meets the governance and audit standards required for a SOX-compliant ERP environment
- Support data migration validation, integration testing, and cutover planning as the go-live date approaches, Most ERP implementation roles ask you to execute someone else's plan. This one asks you to help build it with a seat at the table, a motivated Finance team that wants a real partner, and an organization that is growing in a direction that makes the work matter.
If you've done this before, you know how rare it is to walk into a NetSuite implementation with clear executive support, a defined governance mandate, and real potential for longevity. This is that engagement.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading NetSuite ERP implementations in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment - CMO, contract services, or manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on familiarity with ITGC frameworks, SOX 404(b) requirements, and change control processes in the context of ERP deployments
- Proven ability to build and document business requirements, functional specifications, and testing protocols
- Strong project management instincts - you don't need someone to build your workplan for you
- Experience partnering with Finance teams as a business-facing IT professional, not just a technical implementer
The Right Fit
- A natural translator - equally comfortable in a governance conversation with an auditor and a working session with a Finance VP
- Detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture; you track the milestones and the meaning behind them
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment where the org chart is still being built
- Collaborative by default, decisive when it counts
- CMO or contract manufacturing industry exposure is a meaningful differentiator here - understanding how a CMO operates financially and operationally will accelerate your impact from day one
