Job description
The Senior Data Engineer is a key role within data and analytics projects, responsible for ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and efficient data workflows and pipelines. The mission focuses on delivering business-driven dashboards and reporting solutions, streamlining legacy processes, and enabling the business to leverage trusted, accurate data., * Enhance and streamline legacy Alteryx workflows, centralizing logic, removing redundancies, and improving maintainability.
- Design and maintain reusable Alteryx macros and components to reduce technical debt and ensure consistent transformation logic.
- Rationalize legacy SAS and Alteryx processes, migrating critical transformations and eliminating cross-platform duplication.
- Simplify data flows, identify obsolete datasets, and harmonize historization and retention rules.
Data Integration & Quality
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ingest and validate data from multiple sources with high reliability and correctness.
- Establish and maintain monitoring systems for data quality, system performance, and batch consistency across environments.
- Oversee multi-environment batch operations to ensure synchronization and optimal resource utilization.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
- Work closely with end users to validate impacts of workflow improvements, ensuring no regression on downstream dashboards.
- Support deployment and release processes by increasing automation coverage, quality checks, and predictability of releases.
- Document datasets, workflows, and macros, applying consistent naming and clear descriptions for shared understanding.
Requirements
- English: Fluent
- French: Knowledge is a plus
- Dutch: Knowledge is a plus
Education & Experience
- Master's in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience
- 4-5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on knowledge of data flows, relational databases (SQL Server, Transact-SQL), and analytics
- Expertise in Alteryx , SQL, and workflow optimization
- Familiarity with data visualization solutions is a plus
