Requirements
We are looking for a bright, customer focussed IT expert to join our technical support team. You will put your experience of working as a hands-on, customer facing technical support specialist to good use helping staff, teachers and students to fix their IT issues. You will be working across Midlothian both in Council offices and schools, facing a diverse range of technical challenges on Windows, Apple and Chrome based devices and software. Working independently, you will be the first port of call for Council and school staff who are having problems with IT hardware and software. We will expect you to understand and help our staff get back up and running quickly with whatever technology they are struggling with. The Council is a flexible employer and will consider applicants looking to work flexibly. KNOWLEDGE Essential o Jobholder must hold a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Information Technology or similar qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience; o Previous experience in Windows desktop technologies (including Apple Macs) and working in an ICT support role. o Jobholders must also hold a current driving licence. Desirable o ITIL Foundation Qualification o Customer care experience

Contract Status: Permanent Hours of Work: 36 Weeks per year: 52 Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £32,554.06 per annum.
