Job description
Cammach are currently recruiting a Desktop Support Engineer on behalf of our client, based in Aberdeen. The role will be on a permanent (staff) basis and offers the flexibility of hybrid working., Some of the duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Align your work with IT strategy and support the company's mission and core objectives.
- Help, develop and update IT policies and procedures.
- Perform installation, setup, configuration, migration, upgrade, and support of desktop devices, peripherals, mobile devices, telephony, and conferencing systems.
- Be responsive and pro-active when handling end-user PC problems and requests.
- Assist with internal moves.
- Escalate technical issues to other IT team members as appropriate.
- Travel to offshore units and worldwide shore offices as necessary.
- Use industry standard tools to monitor system performance and availability.
- Assess users' needs and recommend alternative solutions.
- Collaborate with third-party service providers.
- Support IT Project Team with project delivery and implementation.
- Design and deliver user workshops and training as required.
- Record and document work orders.
- Implement IT Changes in line with the IT Change Management Procedure.
- Stay updated on IT, information, and cyber security best practices and provide information and advice to others as necessary.
- Work with elevated account privileges and permissions in line with documented procedures.
- Attend relevant training courses as identified and follow up with exams/qualifications if available.
- Any other duties as required by the IT Manager.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in IT, IT Support Professional SCQF 8, or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
