Technical Support Specialist

The Desktop Support Technician provides first-hand technical support for end users in a Windows environment. This entry-level role focuses on troubleshooting workstation issues, supporting hardware and software, and delivering a positive customer experience. The position is ideal for someone starting their IT career who is eager to learn hands-on desktop support in a professional environment., * Provide deskside and remote support for Windows workstations

• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic connectivity issues
• Assist with Windows operating system setup, configuration, and updates
• Support Microsoft Office applications and common business software
• Set up and support peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, mice, and printers
• Assist with new-hire workstation setup and basic onboarding tasks
• Document incidents and resolutions using a ticketing system
• Escalate issues appropriately when additional support is required

• Basic experience or coursework supporting Windows desktop environments
• Familiarity with Windows 10 and/or Windows 11
• Basic understanding of computer hardware and peripherals
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Willingness to learn IT processes and troubleshoot methodically
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Exposure to Active Directory concepts (user accounts, passwords, access)
• Experience using a ticketing system (ServiceNow or similar)
• Prior internship, school lab, or help desk experience, * Entry-level or early-career IT professional
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working directly with end users
• Interested in growing into desktop, systems, or infrastructure support roles

This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
