Job description

Nature of Role: The Systems Engineer will serve as an Active Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the AN/BQQ-10 Submarine SONAR System and the Active Engineering Team. This role focuses on the development, analysis, and verification of active sonar capabilities across Advanced Processing Builds (APBs). The candidate will play a critical role in requirements , system validation, and continuous capability enhancement to support mission effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline \n

  • Experience with systems engineering processes, including requirements development, verification, and validation \n

  • Familiarity with sonar systems, undersea warfare systems, or defense programs \n

  • Experience supporting Advanced Processing Builds (APBs) or similar iterative development cycles is a plus \n

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills \n

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment \n

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills \n

  • Provide systems engineering support as an Active SME for the AN/BQQ-10 Submarine SONAR System \n

  • Support the development and refinement of active sonar requirements, including feature development and specification updates \n

  • Verify and validate requirements captured within the Sonar System Specification \n

  • Develop and maintain updated active sonar requirements for transitioned APB capabilities \n

  • Review, update, and approve Performance Verification Tests (PVTs) to ensure alignment with system requirements and assess as-run test results \n

  • Perform modeling and analysis of new active sonar capabilities to derive and refine system requirements \n

  • Support requirements review boards and bug review boards to ensure accurate prioritization and resolution of active system issues \n

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support system integration and capability delivery \n
