Job description

  • Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments
  • Perform Oracle DBA activities including installation, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
  • Monitor database health, performance, and capacity; proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Support and execute Oracle database migrations to cloud platforms (OCI, Azure, AWS)
  • Assist with hybrid database environments (on-premises and cloud)
  • Implement and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., SQL Always On, Oracle Data Guard, replication)
  • Analyze query performance and execution plans; recommend indexing and schema improvements
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support releases and small enhancement projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience in enterprise environments
  • 3+ years of Oracle DBA experience (11g, 12c, 19c, or newer)
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability systems
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle RMAN, Data Pump, patching, upgrades, and standby configurations
  • Experience with database backup and recovery tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Familiarity with cloud database services and migration tools
  • Understanding of Windows/Linux operating systems, networking, and storage
  • Ability to work Hawaii Standard Time (HST) hours

This is a Contract position based out of Honolulu, HI. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
