$80.00 - $100.00 / hr life insurance, sick time, 401(k), retirement plan United States, California, Los Angeles May 01, 2026 We are seeking a Systems Engineer II to support a multidisciplinary Systems Engineering team on a governmentfunded program. This role is focused on requirements development, system architecture, integration, verification, and design reviews for complex hardwaresoftware systems. The position is fully onsite in Woodland Hills, California and follows a structured 9x80 work schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage functional and performance requirements, ensuring bidirectional traceability within requirements management tools
- Define and mature functional and physical system architectures to support productionready solutions
- Conduct trade studies and support technical decisionmaking throughout the system lifecycle
- Plan, organize, and lead internal design reviews and support external review activities
- Collaborate with integration and test teams to maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and verification plans
- Support hardwareintheloop and softwareintheloop verification efforts
- Execute verification activities, analyze results, resolve discrepancies, and drive closure
- Maintain configuration baselines, manage change impacts, and support version control activities
- Author and maintain key engineering documentation such as requirements specifications, design descriptions, test plans, and risk artifacts
- Provide technical support and mentorship to lessexperienced engineers
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessonslearned efforts
Requirements

Systems engineering experience supporting complex technical programs

Practical experience with requirements development, system integration, trade studies, and verification activities

Familiarity with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, MATLAB, or equivalent

Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in crossfunctional engineering teams

Strong attention to detail and commitment to highquality deliverables

Comfortable working in fastpaced, scheduledriven environments Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or missioncritical systems

Knowledge of inertial navigation or guidancerelated systems

Participation in major program milestones such as SRR, SFR, PDR, and CDR
