Job description

Provides IC data management support to modernize mega data repositories, dataflow management, data provenance and compliance validation, and streaming solutions., Peraton is seeking a skilled Cloud Systems Administrator to support our mission-driven Cyber platform team. In this role, you'll help sustain and optimize a cloud-based enterprise platform built with Java and Free and Open-Source Software technologies including Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo-enabling execution of data-intensive analytics on managed infrastructure.

As a Cloud Systems Administrator, you will be part of the Operations Team responsible for maintaining day-to-day platform stability, supporting customer operations, and troubleshooting technical issues across complex Linux-based environments. This is an on-call position that provides Tier 1 through Tier 3 operational support.

You will work in a fast-paced technical environment where attention to detail, proactive task management, and the ability to independently diagnose operational issues are essential to mission success.

What You'll Do

  • Support daily operations of cloud-based analytic platforms
  • Provide Tier 1-3 support for infrastructure and system-level issues
  • Troubleshoot operational issues within Linux environments
  • Manage RedHat/CentOS provisioning using kickstart
  • Perform Linux/Unix networking analysis using tools such as nmap and tcpdump
  • Support DNS administration including hosts files and DHCP
  • Assist with containerized and distributed platform technologies
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve system performance issues
  • Support on-call operational requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of experience in software development or engineering; OR
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and a minimum of 1 year of experience in software development or engineering; OR
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development or engineering in lieu of a degree.
  • Qualifying experience must include requirements analysis, software development, installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, or problem diagnosis and resolution
  • Degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar technical disciplines will be considered.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with current Polygraph is required.
  • 8570 IAT Level I or higher (preferably Security+) is required.

Benefits & conditions

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
