Data Analytics Analyst

Insight Global is looking for a Data Analytics Analyst to support the Internal Audit organization at one of our large financial services clients. This individual will partner closely with auditors to validate data, understand end-to-end business and application flows, and build analytics that support audit planning, control testing, and issue validation.

This role is highly analysis-focused and requires someone who can understand what is happening in the business, how data flows through systems, and how to validate and test that data in support of audit objectives., Support Internal Audit teams through data validation, control testing, and issue validation

Partner directly with auditors to understand business processes, system/application flows, and audit objectives

Translate audit questions into clear, defensible analytical approaches

Write, review, and modify SAS and SQL scripts used to analyze large, complex financial datasets

Perform extensive data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability

Help identify repeatable, annual audit use cases that can be automated or reused year-over-year

Assist in building scalable, repeatable analytics that can be leveraged across audits

Provide analytical solutions and recommendations, not just outputs

Strong experience in a Data Analytics / Data Analysis role (analytics-focused, not engineering)

Experience working with audit, risk, controls, compliance, AML, or regulatory datasets

Proven ability to support Internal Audit stakeholders directly

Strong SAS experience

Must understand SAS and be able to read, edit, and modify existing code

Familiarity with SAS environments is required

Strong SQL experience

Must understand SQL scripting for analysis and validation (not application development)

Strong data validation skills (reconciliations, completeness checks, accuracy testing)

Ability to understand business flow and application/system flow

Comfortable translating open-ended business or audit questions into structured analytical solutions Python (for analytics or automation support)
