Job description
As a Software Engineer-Developer, you will play a key role in next-generation aerospace systems by:
- Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining safety-critical embedded software across the full product lifecycle
- Translating customer and system requirements into robust software architectures and detailed technical designs
- Developing and optimizing software components, interfaces, and algorithms for system integration and performance
- Creating and maintaining documentation including requirements traceability, design descriptions, test plans, and release notes
- Leading verification and validation efforts including unit, integration, system, and regression testing
- Producing certification evidence and safety artifacts to support regulatory compliance
- Debugging defects, resolving field issues, and improving software reliability and availability
- Supporting users through technical inquiries and incorporating feedback into future enhancements
- Evaluating emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry changes to modernize software practices
- Improving development processes, toolchains, KPIs, and engineering workflows
- Planning and executing R&D studies and technical feasibility initiatives
- Managing software schedules, risks, resources, and supplier deliverables
- Providing subject matter expertise in architecture, lifecycle practices, and compliance standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry , or related technical field
- Typically 9+ years of related experience , or equivalent combination of education and advanced experience
- Experience developing mission systems software architecture
- Fluency in UML and SysML
- Strong background in MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) and Model Driven Software Engineering
- Ability to translate customer needs into non-functional requirements and quality attributes
- Expertise applying software architecture patterns to technical requirements
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, ambiguities, and competing technical constraints
- Experience reverse engineering legacy code and refactoring software architecture
- Strong communication, analytical, and collaboration skills, * Product line development experience
- Product line software architecture expertise
- Embedded aerospace or avionics software experience
- Safety-critical systems development background
- Experience with regulated software environments and certification standards

Pay Details: $75.80 per hour
