Job description
Insight Global is looking for an IP Configuration / Service Activation Engineer to support a large-scale network modernization project spanning 4,000+ sites. This engineer will work on a team of approximately nine engineers and collaborate cross?functionally with internal teams, telecom providers, and field technicians.
The engineer will be responsible for engineering customized configurations for IP networking equipment based on customer requirements, executing and documenting formal acceptance testing of products and services, and supporting real-time troubleshooting during implementations. Strong attention to detail is critical to ensure accurate network documentation, configurations, and testing results.
Requirements
- 4-5+ years of related experience in an enterprise network or configuration engineering environment
- Strong Cisco networking experience (Juniper experience is a plus)
- Experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting IP network configurations
- Ability to design and integrate multi-level IP networks
- Strong IP subnetting skills (without a calculator)
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols, including:
- BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP
- DMVPN, MPLS, IS-IS, LDP
- Multicast protocols such as PIM and MSDP
Layer 2 Ethernet and switching experience
High attention to detail with network documentation and implementation plans
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Nice to Have:
- CCNA certification
- Experience with MetaSolv (database modeling software)
- Automation or scripting experience (Python preferred)
- Juniper CLI experience
- Prior experience working with large telecom or service providers such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, or Comcast
Benefits & conditions
$49/hr to $57/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
