Job description
Support the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory/Futures Directorate (MCWL/FD) G-6 Information Systems Management Office (ISMO) to enable the smooth function of the organization. Support includes providing audio-video technology and network capability service to the organization in support of the command's Operations and Research & Development (R&D) Information Technology (IT) requirements. This includes, but is not limited to: IT asset management, audio video systems, collaboration technology, communications security (COMSEC), desktop support, information management / information assurance / cybersecurity, knowledge management support, network (NIPR, SIPR, DevNet, ISDN) support, IT procurements, R&D and wargaming support, telephone, and Video Teleconference (VTC) capabilities., + Manage all R&D networks supporting MCWL/FD.

Develop recommendations for new hardware/software and network devices in accordance with the Lab's Technology and Experiments programs including existing infrastructure.

Support the lab's operation and troubleshooting of all Audio-Visual Systems (AVS and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems). Require AVS design and programming using AMX RPM and NetLinx.

Provide the main customer interface for MCWL/FD personnel in connection with network and computer support.

Provide expertise to assist in the management of the lab's classified networks infrastructure.

Provide expertise on information security and physical security.

Provide experimental project & event support as necessary.

Support operation of COMSEC equipment.

Support cybersecurity programs: support the implementation of Information Assurance (IA) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and Vulnerability Management (VM) requirements.

Support documentation requirements as needed.

Support Knowledge Management (KM) programs.

Provide support of the following OS: Win 10, Win Server 2008/2012, Red Hat, Linux, Kali.

Inventory IT systems quarterly and update the Asset Tracking System. Track and manage all IT assets from planning, to receipt, deployment, sustainment, and until disposal.

Support MCWL/FD's tracking of cellular devices (telephone, cell phones, BlackBerry devices and Air Cards) and front-end trouble isolation.

Provide training on AVS, VTC, SharePoint, MS Office Pro, IT Procurement Request Processes.

Provide MCWL/FD desktop support, to include standard Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications, including Access Database and Microsoft Project.

Provide administration support, such as prepare and track telephone work requests; manage scheduling and enable video teleconferencing; and process MCWL/FD IT procurements and IT waiver packages.

Support the Account Creation Process for access to IT Systems.

Be prepared to support the certification and accreditation of Networks and Standalone Systems using USMC MCAST, ACAS (Nessus, SC, PCV) and other tools required by the USMC.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent military education and experience.

Must possess a working knowledge of the Marine Corps Warfighting Concepts and the combat development process.
-
Access to COMSEC equipment and information may be required.
-
MS Active Directory support.
-
Security+ certification (CompTIA or DoD required industry standard equivalent).
-
Familiarization with network design, installation, monitoring, and repair using test equipment.
-
Experience supporting PKI and MS Outlook.
-
Experience with cellular service support.
-
Experience supporting LAN-based video teleconferencing (VTC).
-
Experience supporting Windows XP, Windows 10, and Windows Server 2003.
-
Experience supporting access to unclassified open networks to facilitate research.
-
Must obtain and maintain a valid Top Secret security clearance (generally, U.S. citizenship required).

Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Proficiency in MS Office 2007 and familiarity with Windows based systems.

Proficiency with MS Visio 2007 and MS SharePoint 2007.

Experience with Windows Vista, Windows 2010, Windows Server 2008/2012, MS Exchange 2003/2007, and

MS Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).

Familiarity with the DIACAP process and XACTA (USMC tool used to support DIACAP).

Proficiency with CISCO Platforms (3500 to 6500 series), CISCO Software (all IOS versions), and CISCO PIX

firewall configuration and administration.

Understanding of VoIP, SVoIP, TMS, and wireless technologies (802.11a/b/g/n).

Experience with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network media, including Ethernet, Fast

Ethernet, and ISDN.

Knowledge of Marine Corps Physical Security Protection Standards.

Advanced familiarity with MS core desktop publishing applications, including Visio.

Skills in malware and spyware detection & mitigation.

Pay range: $80,000 to $90,000 per year.
