Job description

Are you passionate about data engineering and excited by the possibilities of IoT? Join us as a Data Engineer and play a key role in designing, building, and operating scalable data pipelines that transform raw data into actionable insights. At Axpo, we value innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, and we're looking for motivated makers to help us shape the future of energy with data-driven solutions. What you will do: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines for streaming data. Ingest and process data from IoT devices, sensors, and edge systems. Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and transformations for analytical and operational use. Ensure data quality, reliability, observability, and documentation across data products. Optimize data pipelines for performance, cost, and scalability. Collaborate with software engineers on data ingestion, protocols, and interfaces. Support real-time and near-real-time use cases (e.g., monitoring, alerting, analytics). Contribute to data platform standards, best practices, and architectural decisions. Troubleshoot production data issues to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

2-4 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related role. Proficient in programming with SQL and Python. Strong knowledge of Git and CI/CD practices. Experience working in a cloud environment (preferably Azure). Hands-on experience with Databricks or similar data platforms. Fluent in English; German is a plus. Experience in the energy industry is a bonus. Team-minded, proactive, and driven by a maker mentality.
