Job description
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Administrator to manage, support, and enhance our core IT and networking infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualization, backups, networking, and infrastructure reliability. The ideal candidate is a strong troubleshooter, documents clearly, works independently, and ensures systems remain stable, secure, and high-performing.
The position involves supporting complex IT environments, managing server and network components, monitoring performance, maintaining disaster recovery readiness, and providing senior-level escalation support.
Key ResponsibilitiesCore Systems Administration
- Administer and support Windows Server environments.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and permissions.
- Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, MFA, lifecycle management).
- Manage and support virtualization platforms such as VMware and/or Hyper-V.
- Maintain and monitor backups, restores, patching, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Troubleshoot server, endpoint, identity, email, storage, and infrastructure issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, inventories, and recovery procedures.
- Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and continuous improvement projects.
- Coordinate with vendors when needed, while owning internal troubleshooting first.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for systems-related issues.
Networking Responsibilities

- Develop, expand, and enhance the networking environment to ensure performance, resilience, and security.
- Architect and recommend network designs aligned with business needs.
- Define requirements, evaluate, and manage changes to the networking infrastructure.
- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for all network components.
- Monitor vendor alerts, vulnerabilities, and performance issues related to networking equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, patching, and tuning of network systems.
- Document and maintain accurate configuration information and network diagrams.
- Establish and adjust network configurations to support firm initiatives.
- Manage network-related trouble tickets and assist users as needed.
- Support initiatives and special projects across IT teams.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, * 5-8+ years of hands-on systems administration experience in complex or enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V.
- Experience with backup and restore operations.
- Experience with patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting production systems.
- Experience writing documentation and supporting remote business environments.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Understanding of ITIL practices and incident management.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Azure or hybrid cloud environments.
- PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Experience with Intune or other endpoint management tools.
- Experience with security hardening, MFA, conditional access, and audit support.
- Experience in multi-site or 24/7 business environments.
- Familiarity with SQL Server or MySQL administration.
