IT Service Engineer -Dutch Speaking
Location: Drachten, Netherlands
About the Department
At the Manufacturing IT (M-IT) Department, we are the backbone of production. In Drachten, we manage a dedicated production network where every machine is interconnected. Our department is a hub of innovation, consisting of three specialized pillars: Software Development, Data Science, and Service & Infrastructure.
We are looking for a driven IT Service Engineer to join our Service & Infrastructure group. Your mission? Ensuring the 24/7 reliability, security, and performance of the critical IT/OT systems that keep our factory moving. The Role
As our IT Service Engineer, you will be the guardian of our M-IT landscape. You will bridge the gap between hardware and software, ensuring our production facility operates at peak efficiency.
Functie-eisen
- Operational Excellence: Ensure high-level service delivery for the M-IT landscape, providing both hardware and software support.
- System Integrity: Manage the deployment, service, and replacement of computers and peripherals, optimizing configurations for maximum performance.
- Support & Escalation: Act as the 2nd line support for complex technical issues and complaints, managing escalations to higher support functions or vendors when necessary.
- Security & Stability: Maintain a secure environment for both IT and OT (Operational Technology) components within the production facility.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Service group to review key issues and approve technical decisions.
- Availability: Support a 16/7 service window, including participating in an on-call schedule (phased in after 6-12 months of onboarding).
Competenties

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent through experience and relevant certifications.
- Proven experience in a technical support or systems engineering role.
Technical Skills:
- Networking: Strong knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet.
- Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows (Client & Server, including legacy systems). Experience with Linux is a strong plus.
- Databases: Hands-on experience with MS SQL and Oracle.
- Preferred Tools: Knowledge of virtualization and the Microsoft System Center suite is highly desirable.
Soft Skills:
- Analytical Excellence: You can dissect complex problems and find the root cause quickly.
- Ownership: You take responsibility for the "health" of the system and always look for ways to improve.
- Communication: A true team player with excellent verbal and written skills in both Dutch and English.
- Resilience: You stay calm under pressure and are capable of handling high-priority escalations.
