Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems and related hardware and software for our Healthcare client .This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your IT career within a dynamic organisation, supporting a wide range of technology needs across the company., * Respond promptly to user requests for technical assistance via phone, email, or in person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals.
- Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware and software applications in accordance with organisational standards.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, actions taken, and resolutions provided using ticketing systems.
- Assist with setting up new workstations and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly before deployment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, virus scans, and backups to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to identify recurring issues and implement solutions to improve overall system stability.
- Provide training or guidance to end-users on basic software applications or security best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in desktop support or a similar technical support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with network concepts such as TCP/IP, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and VPNs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple support requests simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Nice-to-have skills include experience with Entra, Intune, Active Directory, remote support tools, or Mac OS support. This role is ideal for someone eager to utilise their technical expertise in a supportive environment while contributing to organisational efficiency through effective IT support.
