Job description
As a Service Desk Technician (Information Systems Specialist 3) in Salem, Oregon, you will provide agency wide: technical support, diagnostic help and operating instruction for users of microcomputers, data communications, networked hardware, and systems software. Duties include:
- Reporting and troubleshooting all hardware, software, and network issue
- Assist in the agency's management of IT assets
- Management of agency IT inventory records
- Day-to-day operations of processing purchase requests

Requirements
To be considered for this position, all applicants must meet one of the following options:
- Option 1: Two (2) years of information systems experience providing help desk support
- Option 2: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Option 3: Completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field., * Technical experience with microcomputer and data communications hardware and systems software, networks, printers, modems and peripherals
- Experience with all major aspects of computer operations including hardware, software, system administration, telecommunications, systems integration, connectivity and networking
- Experience using a ticketing system in a help desk environment
- Experience training people having varying levels of microcomputer experience
- Customer service experience using follow up procedures
