The Sr SDET Engineer role leads quality engineering for T-Mobile's Fiber and High-Speed Internet (HSI) broadband products by combining strong test leadership, execution oversight, and advanced automation expertise. The position is responsible for driving end-to-end validation of broadband services across service provisioning, customer experience platforms, and connected home ecosystems. The Sr. Engineer SDET leads a distributed team of onshore and offshore testers while also designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks that validate real customer journeys. A key focus of the role is automating complex, end-to-end customer experiences-from service eligibility and order placement through installation, activation, and account management-across highly integrated systems. The work impacts organizational quality standards and supports continuous delivery through collaboration and practice leadership., * Lead broadband test strategy, execution, and quality validation across Fiber and HSI services, ensuring comprehensive coverage of end-to-end customer experiences including eligibility, ordering, installation scheduling, activation, and account management.
- Lead and mentor a distributed team of onshore and offshore QA engineers, driving sprint planning, test execution, defect management, and overall quality delivery across broadband releases.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks across UI and API layers to validate broadband platforms. Focus on automating end-to-end customer journeys and reducing manual regression through robust, reusable test solutions.
- Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure requirements are testable, support root cause analysis, and continuously improve broadband service quality and reliability.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing during builds and deployments, improving release confidence and early defect detection.
- Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed.
Requirements
- Strong leadership in Agile environments, including sprint planning, test execution, and coordination of onshore/offshore QA teams
- Expertise in end-to-end customer experience validation across Broadband journeys (eligibility, ordering, installation, activation, account management)
- Ability to define and drive test strategy, quality standards, and broadband quality metrics
- Proven ability to design and implement automation frameworks across UI and API layers (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, RestAssured, Postman)
- Experience automating complex, end-to-end customer journeys and improving test coverage across service layers
- Strong programming skills (Java or similar) and experience with modern test frameworks (e.g., TestNG) and development tools (IntelliJ, Maven, Git/SVN)
- Experience with API and microservices testing in distributed system environments
- Knowledge of connected home devices (gateways, routers, mesh systems) and their interaction with broadband services
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead root cause analysis and drive defect resolution across complex systems
- Data-driven mindset with experience using quality metrics, test results, and defect trends to improve overall product quality
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, engineering, and operations teams
- Ability to mentor and guide QA engineers while promoting best practices in quality engineering and automation, * Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience. Acceptable areas of study include Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field or the foreign equivalent, and 5 years of progressively responsible postbaccalaureate relevant work experience.
- 4+ years using 3 or more development languages (e.g., C#, Java, JavaScript, etc.) and 3 or more automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, Appium, Sauce Labs, Rest Assured, Postman, Cucumber, Jasmine, Protractor, etc.).
- 4+ years with various testing methodologies and strategies: Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, etc.
- 4+ years using CA Service Virtualization or equivalent.
- 4+ years using issue-tracking software and agile project management systems.
- 4+ years designing and developing applications on Unix or Windows environment, mobile platforms (Android or iOS) or designing complex multi-tiered applications.
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States

Base Pay Range: $89,400 - $161,300
Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
