Job description

StaffRight Associates is seeking a high-caliber Senior Data Steward to serve as a cornerstone for our client's Enterprise Data Stewardship initiative. In this pivotal role, you will be the primary advocate for data integrity, ensuring that foundational information assets remain accurate, secure, and reliable. You will bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and business strategy, fostering a culture where data is a trusted catalyst for informed decision-making. This is a long-term, remote engagement designed for a visionary professional who thrives on transforming complex data landscapes into streamlined, high-quality ecosystems., * Orchestrate the identification and resolution of data quality discrepancies by evaluating business impact and aligning cross-functional stakeholders on corrective actions.

  • Champion the adoption of rigorous data governance frameworks through proactive advocacy, training, and strategic organizational change management.
  • Cultivate a deep technical and functional understanding of the software architecture driving master data pipelines.
  • Diagnose systemic issues within MDM environments by performing deep-dive root cause analyses to prioritize system upgrades and bug fixes.
  • Architect optimized workflows for data validation, entity resolution, and survivorship logic to enhance the precision of golden records.
  • Synthesize complex business requirements into standardized definitions and comprehensive documentation to ensure enterprise-wide consistency.

Requirements

  • Expertise: Minimum of 5 years dedicated to data stewardship, including 3+ years specifically focused on Product, Vendor, or Customer data domains.
  • Technical Proficiency: At least 2 years of hands-on experience navigating MDM platforms, Data Lakes, or complex relational database management systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced SQL querying capabilities and a sophisticated approach to unraveling intricate data puzzles.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical partners and executive leadership.
  • Productivity Tools: Mastery of advanced Excel functions and a proven track record of integrating AI research assistants (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) into professional workflows.
  • Spatial Awareness: Working knowledge of geographic data tools and mapping interfaces.
  • Bonus Qualifications: Familiarity with enterprise reporting suites (Power BI/Tableau), incident management platforms (Jira/ServiceNow), or large-scale ERP environments like SAP.
