The location for this position is virtual/remote Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You This is your chance to be a part of an in-house Technology team that's creating consumer-facing, modern technologies revolutionizing the hospitality industry around the world! As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the DevOps team reporting to the Director of Pipeline and Platform Engineering, you will support projects at the forefront of hospitality technology progress.
What you'll do during a typical day:
- Architect next-generation cloud platforms and automation solutions.
- Devise and evolve code-driven automation strategies that ensure environment consistency across development, testing, and production.
- Build long-term automation solutions using scripting and programming (Groovy, Shell, Python, Terraform, or Java/JavaScript).
- Provide technical leadership and implementation guidance for UI, APIs, and microservices.
- Work with development teams to guide best practices, design patterns, and operational standards.
- Understand new architectural concepts and recommend improvements from an infrastructure and security perspective.
- Support reliability engineering efforts and participate in on-call rotations for mission-critical & revenue-impacting cloud services.
Deliverables you'll take ownership of:
- Design and implement enterprise DevOps architectures, reference patterns, and tooling strategies.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD tools and pipelines across the organization (GitLab preferred).
- Enable seamless, secure, and available software builds and deployments across Agile teams.
- Configure, tune, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred).
- Maintain containerized applications with Docker or similar technologies.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in Technology or a related field.
- Four (4) years with CI tools such as GitLab (preferred), or Bamboo.
- Four (4) years architecting and developing automation to support Continuous Delivery.
- Three (3) years administering Kubernetes.
- Three (3) years on AWS cloud platforms
- Proficiency in scripting/programming in Bash
- Experience supporting reliability efforts, on-call rotations.
- Travel up to 10%.
It would be useful if you have:
- Bachelor's degree OR Associate's + 6 years tech experience OR HS/GED + 12 years tech experience.
- Seven (7)+ years of technology experience.
- Five (5) years of CI tool experience (GitLab or Bamboo), Cloud and Kubernetes platforms.
- One (1) year of management experience
- Scripting experience in Python or Terraform

The pay range for this role is $90,000 - $145,000 and is determined based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan, consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company. #LI-REMOTE, $69.00 - $107.00 per hour
