Job description

Our Company: We care about helping people. Our purpose is to provide help and inspire confidence in our clients and communities everywhere. Our associates feel a sense of belonging in an inclusive place with an amazing history and a sharp focus on our future. Our connected culture is who we are and how we work together to achieve our strategies, accelerate our transformation, and achieve extraordinary results. It's an exciting time to be a part of H&R Block! What you'll do...: The Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) Architect is a senior leader on the business side (Marketing/Analytics department) responsible for overseeing H&R Block's investment in Adobe Experience Platform and its related applications (Adobe Journey Optimizer, Real-Time CDP & CDP Collaboration, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Mix Modeler, and Customer Journey Analytics). This role serves as the strategic owner of these platforms, ensuring they are fully leveraged to deliver personalized customer experiences, data-driven insights, and cross-channel marketing success. The AEP Architect will define the platform roadmap, align it with marketing strategies, and work across teams to implement and optimize solutions. The ideal candidate is a martech strategist with deep Adobe expertise who can translate business objectives into technical requirements, orchestrate complex integrations, and evangelize the use of AEP capabilities to drive marketing ROI. Day to day, you'll...

  • Develop and maintain a unified strategy and multi-year roadmap for Adobe Experience Platform and related tools

  • Continuously identify new use cases and opportunities to leverage AEP (including AJO, RTCDP, CJA, AMM, etc.) in support of marketing and customer experience objectives

  • Ensure H&R Block's AEP investments are aligned with business goals and deliver measurable value

  • Architect end-to-end solutions that connect Adobe Experience Cloud products with each other and with H&R Block's broader technology ecosystem

  • Design how data will flow into AEP (from CRM, websites, mobile apps, etc.) and out to activation channels, ensuring seamless integration of Adobe Journey Optimizer, Real-Time CDP, Adobe Analytics, Target, and other tools

  • Oversee technical integration of AEP with external systems (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud for messaging, data warehouses like Snowflake/Databricks for enrichment) in partnership with IT, making sure solutions are scalable and reliable

  • Govern the customer data usage within AEP with a focus on quality, privacy, and compliance

  • Define data schemas (XDM) and identity stitching approaches in Real-Time CDP that support a single customer view

  • Implement data governance policies (consent management, GDPR/CCPA compliance) and work with legal/privacy teams to enforce privacy-centric data collaboration use cases via RTCDP Collaboration

  • Ensure data ingested and activated through AEP meets security and quality standards, and that profile data is used responsibly across marketing programs

  • Guide the design of personalized customer journeys and experiences using Adobe tools

  • Advise on the setup of Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) for orchestrating omni-channel journeys (triggered messages, next-best-action programs) and ensure integration of decisioning logic with Real-Time CDP segments

  • Oversee usage of Adobe Target for on-site personalization and testing, in coordination with the Testing Lead, to guarantee consistency between in-app/onsite personalization and offsite journey messaging.

  • Work with analytics teams to configure Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) and Adobe Analytics to harvest insights from the AEP ecosystem

  • Ensure that data from AEP (profiles, segments, journey outcomes) is connected to reporting dashboards and Adobe Mix Modeler for marketing mix modeling and attribution

  • Champion a feedback loop where learnings from analytics (campaign performance, attribution results) inform new audience strategies or journey tweaks in AEP

  • Serve as the bridge between business and IT for Adobe Experience Cloud initiatives

  • Lead cross-functional working groups or a Center of Excellence for AEP to ensure alignment and transparency on platform usage, upcoming releases, and ongoing projects

  • Oversee any consulting or vendor partnerships related to the AEP rollout and enhancements

  • Coordinate with IT on environments, deployments, and resolving technical issues impacting the business use of the platform

  • Establish and enforce governance frameworks for the Adobe platforms

  • Monitor platform usage for adherence to best practices and intervene to course-correct as needed

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and runbooks for business users of AEP tools

  • Conduct training sessions and demos for marketing and analytics teams to demonstrate new features

  • Mentor junior team members or power users in how to build effective experiments, audiences, and journeys

  • Define KPIs to track the business impact of AEP initiatives (e.g., lift in conversion due to personalization, improved campaign speed-to-market, incremental revenue from better targeting)

  • Work with analytics to produce regular readouts for leadership on how personalization and journey efforts are contributing to business outcomes, Job Description: POSITION PROPERTIES Position Title Communications Manager Schedule / Grade Salary Grade 6 Job Code 01ADSUP575 FLSA Exempt Calendar ADSUP-S …

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing technology or marketing analytics roles, with at least 3-5 years directly working with Adobe Experience Cloud tools
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and its applications - including Real-Time CDP (customer profiles & segmentation), Adobe Journey Optimizer (journey orchestration), Customer Journey Analytics, and Adobe Target
  • Familiarity with setting up data schemas, segments, and destinations in AEP is required
  • Ability to work with IT on connecting data sources (web, mobile, call center, CRM databases) into AEP and setting up outbound connections to marketing channels or ad platforms
  • Knowledge of data structuring (JSON, XDM schemas) and identity resolution concepts is required
  • Solid grounding in marketing analytics and experiment design, including comfortability interpreting the results of personalization campaigns or journey cohorts, and working with analytics teams to derive insights
  • Proven project leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both in translating technical details to non-technical stakeholders and in capturing business needs to communicate to technical teams
  • Experience leading a Center of Excellence or acting as a lead architect/advisor guiding teams in adopting new technology

It would be even better if you also had...:

  • Familiarity with broader Adobe Marketing Cloud applications, such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or Marketo Engage, and how they might interface with AEP

  • Experience working with non-Adobe marketing technologies that are part of a typical ecosystem, such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget), CRM systems, DMPs, or data onboarding services like LiveRamp

  • Hands-on experience with analytics or BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI) to create marketing dashboards, or familiarity with data science concepts (predictive scoring, propensity models)

  • Background in financial services, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries

  • Knowledge of web performance and optimization techniques related to tags and scripts (e.g., familiarity with Adobe Web SDK / Launch and how client-side personalization impacts site performance)

  • Experience managing relationships with martech vendors or consultants
