Job description

The Network Service Technician reports directly to the Regional Service Manager and is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and ongoing support of Health Monitor Network's Digital Exam-Room Screens and TVs. This role combines technical expertise with a strong focus on customer experience, serving as a brand ambassador for Health Monitor. All services must be performed using Health Monitor's approved methods and workmanship standards. This role requires travel within St. Louis, Missouri and surrounding areas and the ability to work independently. Ability to work 20-29 hours per week.

Essential Job Functions

  • Install, exchange, and replace Digital Screens and TVs (including cable raceways), and set up equipment according to established procedures.
  • Return equipment as needed through a predefined RMA process

Provide comprehensive support for Digital Screens, ensuring optimal network connectivity and performance, including:

  • Performing physical maintenance and software updates.
  • Managing connectivity issues by working with internal and external partners to troubleshoot Wi-Fi continuity, signal strength, and other network-related problems.
  • Collaborating with internal network operations teams and external vendors to identify root causes and implement solutions.

Enhance customer experience by training physician office staff on screen usage and related technologies:

  • Conduct training sessions to maximize screen benefits for the practice.
  • Provide guidance on content management and development.
  • Build rapport with staff, acting as a trusted advisor and addressing questions or concerns.

Build and maintain positive relationships with physician offices:

  • Schedule service appointments.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts and communicate these to sales representatives.
  • Share client insights to inform sales strategies and support service expansion.

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, installations, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Document recurring issues for process improvement.
  • Submit detailed reports via the field service management app.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve customer experience and installation processes.
  • Share feedback and insights to enhance service quality.
  • Demonstrate technical acuity and problem-solving skills across various scenarios involving network connectivity, hardware, and software.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a technical field.
  • Proven experience in customer service and/or technical roles, ideally involving hardware installation or support.
  • Experience in healthcare field service, maintenance, electrical work, technical support, or IT is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, including technical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to remain composed and professional in stressful situations.
  • Basic understanding of networking and hardware components is a plus.
  • Availability for a minimum of 3-4 days per week during standard business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM). 20-29 hours per week.
  • Active and unrestricted driver's license required.

ADA - Physical Demands (Office Position)

  • Extensive daily travel (minimum 75%) within the assigned territory; additional travel may be required.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to perform moderate lifting, up to 30 pounds.
  • Work is primarily indoors, with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes. Occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions may occur during travel to client sites.
