Job description

As a Solution Architect, you’ll be at the intersection of technology leadership and hands-on engineering. You’ll be responsible for shaping, designing, and delivering large-scale, high-profile programmes across industries including defence, health, government, energy, and financial services. This is not a purely advisory role - you must come from an engineering background with production development experience, and you must have experience working in a consulting environment where you’ve engaged directly with clients, delivered solutions, and influenced senior stakeholders.

You’ll partner with executives (up to CxO level), lead engineering teams, and provide technical direction across modern architecture domains. The role involves driving strategy while remaining close to delivery, ensuring solutions are both visionary and executable.

Requirements

  • A strong engineering background with hands-on software development experience before moving into architecture.
  • Proven consulting experience, with a track record of engaging clients, influencing decision-making, and delivering large-scale solutions.
  • Experience leading architecture for enterprise-scale programmes across application, business, or integration domains.
  • Knowledge across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern delivery approaches (agile, DevOps, CI/CD).
  • Experience assessing solution options, selecting technologies, and designing roadmaps that guide delivery.
  • Strong technical breadth across areas such as microservices, cloud-native design, data platforms, CRM/eCommerce, IoT, or enterprise platforms.
  • Ability to bridge strategy and delivery, providing thought leadership and mentoring to engineering teams., If you’re a hands-on architect with a true engineering foundation and the consulting experience to shape strategy for complex organisations, this is an opportunity to take on career-defining projects. You’ll work with high-calibre teams, solve problems that matter, and see the impact of your work at scale.

Benefits & conditions

Salary: £90,000-£105,000 + bonus + car allowance, * Salary between £90,000-£107,000 + bonus + car allowance.

  • Access to advanced training and certifications in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Work on mission-critical projects with genuine social and business impact.
  • Hybrid working with UK-wide office network.
  • A diverse, inclusive culture with strong investment in career growth and leadership development.
