Job description

The Online Worship Coordinator will be responsible for all administrative aspects of Zoom Worship, which include:

  • Running the technical aspect of Zoom worship during services.
  • Creating PowerPoint slides from a template.
  • Sourcing copyright-free images and music.
  • Inviting members to read bible passages during services.
  • Creating new hymn videos.
  • Reading a pre-prepared introduction at each Zoom worship service.
  • Sending out invitation emails.
  • Communicating effectively with those leading online worship services.
  • Maintaining a database of participants.
  • Maintaining and updating a website that holds hymn videos and recordings.
  • Working closely with the Marketing and Media Coordinator to ensure promotional opportunities across the Church are maximised.

The Online Worship Coordinator will also be involved in organising and coordinating other forms of online worship, such as photography church, discussion groups, and Bible studies, and developing and delivering new ways of bringing people together online.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Zoom?, Essential

  • Experience of running online meetings, events, or similar.
  • Experience of developing, creating digital resources i.e. presentations, films.
  • Knowledge and experience of the following software (or a willingness to learn if one or two are unfamiliar):

o Video/audio editing software (e.g. Filmora) o Zoom o PowerPoint o Canva (or similar) o Excel o Website editing

Desirable

  • Educated to A Level standard, or similar.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Bible.
  • Familiarity with classical music.

Benefits & conditions

Hours: 20 hours a month (this includes approx. 2 hours on the second and fourth Sunday of each month and services at Easter and Christmas).

Salary: £27,040 to £31,200 (pro rata).

Introduction

This is a new and exciting opportunity to join our team of Online Zoom Worship Providers and be instrumental in the delivery and development of our online worship services and bringing people together online.

The New Church is a spiritual and religious charity with national centres in Warwickshire and Manchester along with some active congregations mainly in the North of England. We conduct various devotional, educational, publishing and social programmes aimed at promoting spiritual growth through the teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg.

We are at a pivotal stage in the life of the Church and we are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic individual to facilitate fortnightly Zoom worship services, along with other exciting online worship activities to help us play a leading role in developing the Church for future generations, and to help us fulfil our Vision of a network of individuals and groups interacting together to share spiritual insight and understanding in an open and non-judgmental way, in order to promote spiritual growth through the application to life of the Word, and the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg.

You will be required to attend fortnightly Zoom worship services which take place in the afternoon on the second and fourth Sunday in each month. You will also be required to attend extra online services at Easter and Christmas., * Eligible to work in the UK.

  • Able to undertake a flexible work pattern, which will include fortnightly Zoom worship services which take place in the afternoon on the second and fourth Sunday in each month, and extra services at Easter and Christmas.
  • Successful Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Complete safeguarding training on joining the organisation.
  • Complete an induction to the organisation and its teams.
