Job description
A Telecommunications Project Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of telecom infrastructure and service-delivery projects. They work across engineering, field operations, construction, IT, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards., * Project Planning - Define scope, timelines, budgets, and resource plans for engineering, systems, and IT technology deployments.
- Network Deployment Oversight - Manage installation, integration, testing, and acceptance of technology initiatives.
- Vendor & Contractor Management - Oversee RFPs, contract negotiations, and performance of external partners.
- Risk & Issue Management - Identify risks, track issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Communication - Conduct working meetings and provide updates to leadership, clients, and cross-functional teams.
- Budget & Cost Control - Track expenditures, forecast costs, and manage financial performance.
- Quality Assurance - Ensure documentation, testing, and deliverables meet technical and operational standards., * Provides leadership, guidance, and support to assigned team members.
- Assists with employee training, coaching, and performance management.
- Supports hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and employee development activities.
- Promotes a positive, professional, and safety-focused work environment.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor workload distribution and team productivity to support operational goals.
- Addresses employee concerns and escalate issues as appropriate.
- May participate in disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and corrective action processes.
Requirements
Technical Skills:
- Understanding of fiber networks and IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with telecom tools (ServiceNow, Salesforce), OSS/BSS systems, and field deployment processes.
Project Management Skills:
- Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination.
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
- Proficiency with project tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, etc.).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, IT, or related field.
- Preferred certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, RCDD.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS
- Compliance with company safety policies, PPE, safe driving, DOT requirements, etc.
ENVIRONMENTAL / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment.
- Occasional business travel may be required based on business needs., * Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively and utilize standard office technology and equipment.
- May require remaining in a stationary position and moving throughout the work environment as needed to perform job responsibilities.
