vDefend Security Engineer & VMware Cloud Foundation (DFW & SSP) - Remote position

We are seeking a highly skilled vDefend Security Engineer to support a critical initiative within a VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) private cloud environment. This role will focus on implementing advanced security controls, specifically Distributed Firewall (DFW) and Service Segmentation Platform (SSP) capabilities, to strengthen infrastructure security and segmentation. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities :- * Design and deploy Distributed Firewall (DFW) rulesets to secure the VCF management plane. * Execute end-to-end SSP (Service Segmentation Platform) deployments, ensuring effective network segmentation and policy enforcement. * Implement and optimize vDefend security features aligned with enterprise security standards. * Provide expert consultation on VCF security posture, including architecture, configuration, and best practices. * Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to integrate security controls seamlessly. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DFW and SSP implementations. * Document configurations, processes, and deployment standards. Required Skills & Experience :- * Deep subject matter expertise in VMware vDefend. * Proven hands-on experience with: o Distributed Firewall (DFW) rule design and implementation o Service Segmentation Platform (SSP) deployment and configuration * Strong experience working within VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments. * Solid understanding of network security principles, micro-segmentation, and zero-trust architecture. * Ability to lead implementations and provide strategic security guidance. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in large-scale enterprise or regulated environments. * Familiarity with NSX-T and broader VMware ecosystem. * Prior consulting or advisory experience in cloud security architecture.
