Job description

We are seeking an experienced HR Systems Assessment & Optimization Consultant to conduct a comprehensive review of our current HR technology environment, business processes, and system configuration. This short-term engagement is focused on evaluating our existing HR platform, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing practical recommendations to optimize the system.

This is not an implementation role. The consultant will assess current workflows, system usage, governance, reporting capabilities, and overall alignment with HR best practices. The final deliverable will include a prioritized roadmap of recommendations that will guide future system enhancements and implementation efforts.

The consultant will:

  • Assess current HR workflows and business processes across the HR function.
  • Evaluate how our platform is currently configured and being utilized.
  • Identify gaps between current system functionality and HR operational needs.
  • Review existing workflows for duplication, inefficiencies, and unnecessary complexity.
  • Assess reporting capabilities, data quality, and governance practices.
  • Meet with key HR stakeholders to understand business requirements and pain points.
  • Develop practical recommendations based on HR industry best practices rather than software limitations.
  • Deliver a written assessment report that prioritizes recommendations by business impact, effort, and implementation readiness., At the conclusion of the engagement, the consultant will provide:
  • Comprehensive assessment of the current HR system environment.
  • Inventory of workflow and process improvement opportunities.
  • Recommendations for standardization and automation.
  • Prioritized roadmap for future implementation activities.
  • Executive summary with key findings and strategic recommendations.

Engagement Duration: 4-6 weeks (Contract)

Work Arrangement: Remote with scheduled virtual meetings and in person stakeholder interview days.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in HR operations, HRIS, or HR technology consulting.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end HR processes including recruiting, onboarding, employee records, performance management, learning, leave management, and employee service delivery.
  • Experience assessing and optimizing HR systems and business processes.
  • Ability to evaluate HR technology from both a functional HR and system perspective.
  • Experience documenting current-state and future-state workflows.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder interview skills.
  • Experience producing executive-level assessment reports and recommendations.

Experience with comparable HRIS platforms such as Workday, UKG, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, BambooHR, or similar enterprise HR systems is highly valued.
