Job description

The IT Helpdesk Technician will answer all Helpdesk calls and provide first-line support for all hardware/software issues. He/she will create work orders and assign them to the appropriate IT staff member.

This full-time position will work from 8am-5pm, Monday - Friday and will be based in either the Whitakers or Henderson location. Occasional travel to other RHG locations may be necessary for training or support purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical assistance to computer users via phone and remote support software (VNC);
  • Maintains working knowledge of mission critical applications;
  • Diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems;
  • Creates and tracks work orders using our IT Helpdesk software (Trackit);
  • Provides one-on-one end-user training as needed;
  • Installs hardware such as monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners as needed;
  • Installs software such as Microsoft Office or internal applications as needed;
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of all hardware and warranty information;
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all toner supplies for the corporation. Place orders as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with other IT staff to deliver excellent customer service in solving problems quickly and efficiently
  • Follows-up with customers to assure that service meets expectations, and documents problems and solutions.
  • Performs additional duties to assist the organization in maximizing the use of its resources.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-year degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A basic understanding of methods for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects
