Job description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. Your expertise will help keep our clients’ IT environments running smoothly and securely, supporting their business operations around the clock., * Resolving tier 2 tech support issues involving hardware, software, and networking while working with local support
- Participate in weekly meetings with the team
- Updating client documentation when needed, as well as follow up with Operations to confirm the information is correct
- Audit systems for potential issues
- Responding to all emails, calls and messages regarding technical support issues in a timely manner
- Ensure that a ticket is being worked on promptly from the time it is put in until the time the issue is resolved
- Setup user accounts according to client specifications
- Completing ECFs on time and ensuring users have everything they need to complete their duties
- Reviewing all tickets to confirm the work is being completed correctly
- Confirm patches are being installed in a timely fashion
- Assisting tier 1 local support with any issues or questions they may have
- Other tasks assigned by their supervisor
Requirements
- Proven experience in computer networking with a focus on LAN/WAN architecture, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, DHCP/DNS management.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking equipment including routers (Cisco routers), switches (Meraki), firewalls (Cisco ASA), and Cisco ISE for identity services.
- Hands-on experience with network security tools such as IDS/IPS systems, VPN configuration (IPsec & SSL), PKI implementation, LDAP/Active Directory integration.
- Familiarity with cloud security platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus; experience with virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere is preferred.
- Proficiency in system administration across multiple operating systems including Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Debian), BSD variants; scripting skills in Python or Shell Scripting are advantageous.
- Ability to perform equipment troubleshooting efficiently while maintaining high levels of system availability and data integrity.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or SolarWinds alternatives; experience with automation tools like Ansible is beneficial.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong communication abilities; familiar with ITIL practices for incident management and service delivery.
