Job description

  • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Arranging scheduled upgrades
  • Investigating faults in the network
  • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
  • Reporting network status to key stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in networking and 4+ years in cloud engineering
  • Strong understanding of networking equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls and VPN appliances. (Preferably Dell, Cisco, Sonicwall)
  • Deep operational experience ensuring efficient troubleshooting and speed to problem resolution
  • Strong working knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including BGP, IPsec, network segmentation, VRFs, Switching, VLANs and load balancers.
  • Strong understanding of identity management, federated identity systems (Microsoft ADFS), MFA, and Active Directory integration with cloud apps and Azure AD
  • Current knowledge of DevOps, containerization, security, and observability
  • Scripting ability to enable automation and deployment of infrastructure as code, interacting with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) with Terraform, Azure PowerShell, and Azure CLI
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, and ability to communicate complex technical ideas to many audiences
